|Established in 1995, The Hacienda remains committed to its foundational principle of “Restoring people to useful lives”. Men come to the campus to rebuild their lives in transition after prison release, to end alcohol and substance abuse, gang affiliations, domestic violence, self-destructive patterns and homelessness. There is never any charge to participate in this program. Men accepted into the program must exhibit a strong desire for positive change by committing themselves to this one-year, live- in, supervised program (Phase I). Daily schedules include participation in assigned job-training activities, Bible study and Christian discipleship training. After completing Phase I, graduates may opt to enter Phase II and remain on campus up to one additional year for assistance and accountability in securing employment, transportation & housing; financial counseling; probation compliance; personal counseling, and general preparation for independent living. The Hacienda is recognized by Municipal and Superior Courts of Riverside, San Bernardino and Orange Counties (as well as probation) as a faith-based, alternative sentencing program. Anger Management & Domestic Violence classes are available.

“My wife Carolyn and I began working with men released from prison almost 25years ago. We continue to marvel at the success of The Hacienda’s faith-based program and the thousands of men it has served. As program principals are applied in their lives, we see a change in character that positively impacts not only the men, but their families as well. With the addition of the Phase II option in the program, we see tremendous results in the lives of those men needing more time to leave the program confident and well prepared to re-enter society as productive, contributing members.”
- Pator Garland Gauthier, Founder & CEO of the Hacienda – Presbyter, Riverside Section - Assemblies of God
“I went from always being on the losing end of life, including crime & prison, to a new way of thinking. Now, thanks to God, I have peace, a great career, a wife, a home…everything!”
- Andrew Garcia, Hacienda graduate, 1999
