Help us rebuild one more life!
| “I recall the first time I walked on the campus in 2003. What I saw then is what I still see today, and it is remarkable! These men are not only acquiring job skills, but also becoming leaders and developing a sense of belonging, self pride and respect for themselves and others. Because of their accomplishments and changes they have made in their lives at the Hacienda, they have regained what was once lost, including themselves.
- Roger Rodriguez, Detective (Ret.) – Gang Unit, Escondido Police Dept.
“I went from always being on the losing end of life, including crime & prison, to a new way of thinking. Now, thanks to God, I have peace, a great career, a wife, a home…everything!”
- Andrew Garcia, Hacienda graduate, 1999
“I sincerely believe in the work of The Hacienda program. It creates changes in the lives of the participants that bless families, the community and future generations.”
- JoAnn Gordon Culberson, Warden (Ret.) – California Rehabilitation Center, Norco, CA.
“The Hacienda is a Divine intervention... God’s hand extended in the restoration of my son.”
- Linda Lail, mother of Hacienda graduate
“My wife Carolyn and I began working with men released from prison almost 25 years ago. We continue to marvel at the success of The Hacienda’s faith-based program and the thousands of men it has served. Its success rate speaks for itself, with 72% not returning to their former life style of drugs, gangs, violence and prison.”
- Pastor Garland B. Gauthier, Jr. – Administrative Director of The Hacienda
WHAT IS THE HACIENDA?
|Established in 1995, The Hacienda remains committed to its foundational principle of “Restoring people to useful lives”. It offers a proven program that gives men the tools to abandon violence and self-destruction and become productive members of family and society. A number of men come to the campus as an alternative to court-ordered sentencing or after prison release. Many are overcoming alcohol and substance abuse, gang affiliations, domestic violence and homelessness. Other participants have no criminal background, but come because they recognize their desperate need to alter their self-destructive patterns. There is never any charge to participate in this program.
Men accepted into the program must exhibit a strong desire for positive change by committing themselves to this one-year, live in, supervised program.
